Adaptive Sports Exploration

This 4-week sport sampler, offered by the City of Holland, Hope College, and Special Olympics Michigan, is designed to help children with varying disabilities explore movement and develop motor skills. Suggested for children in elementary school, this program will introduce basic sport skills through fun, inclusive, and engaging activities. Hope College Sports Studies students will volunteer alongside participants in a 1:1 ratio, offering guidance and support at a pace tailored to each child’s individual ability and progress. The four sports included in this program will be Soccer, Basketball, Softball and Track & Field, with each day of the program focused on one sport. Students will also receive a custom Sports Exploration jersey, that they can keep and wear out and about after the program.
